Building a Sustainable and Stable Palm Oil Supply Chain: APOA and CPOPC Lead the Way

The Asian Palm Oil Alliance (APOA), the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC), and Solidaridad Network Asia Limited (SNAL) have signed an MoU in Mumbai to strengthen sustainability and stability in the palm oil supply chain.
The partnership will:
✅ Align national sustainability standards
✅ Improve traceability with tools like SoliTrace
✅ Support and include smallholders
✅ Promote NDPE-compliant (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) sourcing
✅ Create importer-facing dashboards for Indian buyers
For South Asia’s 1.5 billion consumers, this collaboration means more predictable supply, stronger food security, and fairer opportunities for small farmers. A Joint Working Group will now drive the initiative, co-chaired by APOA and CPOPC, with Solidaridad as the technical secretariat.
This is a big step toward making palm oil trade more transparent, inclusive, and sustainable across the region. 🌍🌱
एशियन पाम ऑयल एलायंस (APOA), काउंसिल ऑफ पाम ऑयल प्रोड्यूसिंग कंट्रीज़ (CPOPC) और सॉलिडैरिडाड नेटवर्क एशिया लिमिटेड (SNAL) ने मुंबई में एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं ताकि पाम ऑयल सप्लाई चेन को और अधिक सतत और स्थिर बनाया जा सके।
यह साझेदारी करेगी:
✅ राष्ट्रीय स्थिरता मानकों का सामंजस्य
✅ SoliTrace जैसे टूल्स के माध्यम से बेहतर ट्रेसबिलिटी
✅ छोटे किसानों (स्मॉलहोल्डर्स) को समर्थन और शामिल करना
✅ एनडीपीई (नो डिफॉरेस्टेशन, नो पीट, नो एक्सप्लॉइटेशन) के अनुरूप सोर्सिंग को बढ़ावा देना
✅ भारतीय खरीदारों के लिए इम्पोर्टर-फेसिंग डैशबोर्ड तैयार करना
दक्षिण एशिया के 1.5 अरब उपभोक्ताओं के लिए यह सहयोग अधिक भरोसेमंद सप्लाई, मजबूत खाद्य सुरक्षा और छोटे किसानों के लिए बेहतर अवसर लाएगा। इस पहल को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए एक संयुक्त कार्य समूह (Joint Working Group) बनाया जाएगा, जिसकी सह-अध्यक्षता APOA और CPOPC करेंगे और सॉलिडैरिडाड तकनीकी सचिवालय के रूप में कार्य करेगा।
यह समझौता पाम ऑयल व्यापार को और अधिक पारदर्शी, समावेशी और सतत बनाने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम है। 🌍🌱
